In light of the upcoming biennial elections to the Telangana State Legislative Council, liquor sales will be prohibited in specific areas of Cyberabad. As per an official statement from Cyberabad police, the ban will commence at 4 PM on Tuesday and remain in place until 4 PM on Thursday. This restriction applies to all wine shops, toddy outlets, and bars, including those located in star hotels and registered clubs within the limits of Kollur and RC Puram police stations.

Authorities have implemented these measures to maintain law and order during the election period. The biennial elections to the Telangana State Legislative Council are scheduled to take place for two key constituencies. Voting will determine representatives for the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates' and Teachers' Constituencies, along with the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers' Constituency.

The election process commenced on February 3, 2025, following the issuance of the official notification. Candidates were required to submit their nominations by February 10, with the scrutiny process conducted on February 11. The final date for withdrawal of candidatures was set for February 13.

Polling is scheduled for February 27, from 8 AM to 4 PM, with votes to be counted on March 3. The election process is expected to conclude by March 8, 2025.
